Nearly 150 people reported by Police for violating COVID-19 measures

Cyprus police reported 146 citizens and four establishment owners during the last 24 hours for violating the measures aiming to curb the spread of COVID-19.

A police spokesperson told CNA that a total of 10,892 checks were carried out from 6.00am on Thursday until 6.00am on Friday.

In Nicosia the police carried out 2,520 checks and booked 32 people, while in Limassol 2,645 checks were conducted with 70 citizens reported.

In Larnaca the police carried out  1690 checks and handed out fines to nine citizens, while in Paphos 1,160  checks were conducted and 19 citizens and four establishment owners were reported.

In Famagusta the police carried out 1,568 checks and booked 16 citizens, while in Morphou they conducted 530 checks and no people were reported.

The Traffic Department carried out 692 checks and the Port and Marine police carried out 87 checks without booking anyone.
