Athens 2004 Marketing General Manager, Georgios Bolos announced on Wednesday that the Olympic Torch, which will arrive in Cyprus tomorrow, will not pass through the occupied territories of the island.
As the CNA reports, at a joint press conference with COC President, Kikis Lazarides, Mr. Bolos said that Athens 2004 had accepted COC’s proposal for the Torch to pass the occupied areas of northern Cyprus, but the T/C denied the conditions set out to them.
“Athens 2004 did not set out any different conditions from those set out in other cities that the Torch traveled to”, Mr. Bolos concluded.
