Police book 109 citizens and one establishment owner for violating measures against COVID-19

Cyprus police booked 109 citizens and one establishment owner during the last 24 hours for breaching the measures aiming to contain the spread of COVID-19.

A police spokeperson told the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) that a total of 9,686 checks were carried out from 0600 on Tuesday until 0600 on Wednesday.

In Nicosia the police carried out 2,078 checks and reported 12 citizens, while 1,634 checks were done in Limassol where 52 citizens and one establishment owner were booked.

In Larnaca the police carried out 1,583 checks and handed out fines to 21 citizens, while in Paphos 1,204 checks were done and 10 citizens were reported.

In Famagusta the police carried out 1,287 checks and booked 11 citizens and in Morphou 902 checks with one citizen being booked.

The police Traffic Department carried out 944 checks, and handed out fines to two citizens.

The Port and Marine Police carried out 54 checks without booking anyone.
