Police book 160 citizens and 3 establishment owners for violating COVID-19 measures

Cyprus police reported 160 citizens and three establishment owners during the last 24 hours for violating the measures aiming to curb the spread of COVID-19.

A police spokesperson told CNA that a total of 11,203 checks were carried out from 6.00am on Tuesday until 6.00am on Wednesday.

In Nicosia the police carried out 2,538 checks and booked 19 people and one establishment owner, while in Limassol 2,345 checks were conducted and 74 citizens were reported.

In Larnaca the police carried out 1,473 checks and handed out fines to 20 citizens and one establishment owner, while in Paphos
1,522 checks were conducted and 24 citizens and one establishment owner were reported.

In Famagusta the police carried out 1,330 checks and booked 12 citizens, while in Morphou they conducted 1,250 checks and reported six citizens.

The Traffic Department carried out 680 checks and fined five citizens and the Port and Marine police carried out 65 checks, without booking anyone.
