Police fined 180 citizens and 7 establishments for COVID violations

Police carried out a total of 13,601 checks across Cyprus in the last 24 hours and fined 180 individuals and 7 establishments` owners for violations of COVID measures.

An officer from the Police Press Office told Cyprus News Agency than in Nicosia the checks were 3,579 and 64 citizens were reported, in Larnaka the Police carried out 1,392 checks and fined 24 citizens and in Limassol the checks were 4,009 and 52 citizens and 6 establishments` owners wre fined. These premises include a restaurant, a cafeteria, a bar and hair salons.

The Police carried out 1,607 checks in Paphos and fined 23 citizens while in Famagusta the checks were 1,222 and 16 citizens and 1 establishment owner were reported.

The checks in Morphou were 923 and there was no report for violations. The Traffic Department carried out 676 checks and fine one person while the Emergency Response Unit conducted 4  checks with no reports.
