Police fined 3 establishments and 12 individuals for COVID violations

Police conducted 1,856 checks during the last 24 hours for violations in place to contain the pandemic, during which 3 establishments and 12 individuals were fined.

A press officer from the Police Press Office told the Cyprus News Agency that in Nicosia 501 checks were carried out and no violation was detected and in Limassol in a total of 172 checks, the Police fined 2 establishments and 6 people. In Larnaka the checks were 433 and one individual was fined and in Famagusta in 335 checks the Police issued fines against 3 citizens. In Pafos the checks were 85 and Police fined 2 people and in Morphou in 207 police checks one establishment was fined,

In particular a fine of €1,500 was issued in Morphou against a bank for not checking the safepass of customers.

In Limassol fines were issued against a supermarket and a bakery for not checking for safepass. The fines were of 1,500 euros each.

Traffic Department carried out 123 checks and no violation was detected. The majority of people were fined for failing to wear a face mask.
