Police fines 139 individuals and 2 shops over COvid protective measures violation

Cyprus Police fined 139 individuals and 2 shops for violating protective measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

A Police Spokesperson told the CNA the force carried out a total of 14,596 checks in the last 24 hours ending at 06:00 Friday.

In Nicosia, the Police carried out 3,236 checks reporting 28 individuals, in Limassol 43 individuals were reported following 5,466 checks, while 31 citizens were fined after 1,105 checks.

In Pafos a total of 1,103 checks were carried out with 12 individuals and 2 shops were reported, 1,409 checks were carried out in Famagusta with 22 citizens reported while no fines were issued in Morphou following 821 checks.

The Police Traffic Department carried out 1,165 checks reporting 3 individuals, while the Police Rapid Response Unit and the Port and Marine Police carried out 249 and 42 checks respectively with fines issued.
