Police hand out 48 fines for violation of measures against COVID-19

Cyprus Police handed out fines to 48 citizens during the last 24 hours for violations of measures aiming at preventing the spread of COVID-19.

A Police spokesperson told the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) that the Police carried out a total of 2,350 checks island-wide from 0600 on Monday to 0600 on Tuesday.

In Nicosia, 7 individuals were reported after 565 checks and in Limassol 15 people were found to violate measures after conducting 333 checks. Police also reported 10 individuals after 493 checks in Larnaca.

In Paphos the Police handed out fines to 7 citizens after conducting 585 checks. In Famagusta 297 checks led to 5 individuals being reported and in Morphou area 77 checks were carried out with 4 people being reported.

Furthermore, the Port Police carried out 31 checks. No violations were reported.
