Police hand out 78 fines for violations of measures against COVID-19

Cyprus police handed out 78 fines during the last 24 hours for violations of measures taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

A Police spokesperson told the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) that the police carried out 6868 checks and booked five establishments and 73 citizens.

In Nicosia, the police carried out 2356 checks and reported one premise and 35 individuals. In Limassol, 2156 checks were conducted and one premise and 20 citizens were reported. In Larnaca the police carried out 784 checks and reported three citizens. In Paphos the police conducted 893 checks and reported two establishments and nine people. In Famagusta the police carried out 483 checks and reported one premise and five citizens, while in Morphou 196 checks were conducted and one citizen was booked.


Moreover the Port Police carried out 18 checks during which no one was reported. No fines were handed out at the airports as well.
