Cyprus Police reported 16 individuals and the owner of one establishment for violating the measures aiming to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
A Police spokesperson told CNA that in the last 24 hours ending on 06:00 local time the Force carried out 3,667 checks throughout the government-controlled areas.
In Nicosia the Police carried out 1,557 checks and reported 3 individuals, in Limassol 4 individuals and 1 establishment owner were reported following 258 checks, in Larnaka 3 individuals were booked after 750 checks, in Pafos 5 individuals were reported after 199 checks, in Famagusta 1 individual was booked following 296 checks and in Morphou 233 checks were carried out with no fines issued.
Furthermore, the Traffic Department carried and the Port and Marine Police carried out 206 and 178 checks respectively with no fines issued.
