Police report 10 persons and 6 shop owner over Covid-19 protective measures violation

Cyprus Police fined 10 individuals and 6 shop owners for violating protective measures aiming to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

A police spokesperson told CNA that in the last 24 hours, the Force carried out a total of 2.144 checks throughout the government-controlled areas.

In Nicosia, the Police carried out 687 checks reporting 4 persons and 5 shop owners, in Limassol 184 checks were carried out with 2 persons booked, in Larnaca 1 person was fined following 498 checks, in Pafos 1 shop owner was reported after 153 checks, in Famagusta 3 persons were fined after 388 checks, while in the Morphou region no fines were issued following 133 checks.

Furthermore, the Police Traffic Departments carried out 101 checks with no violations recorded.

Fines were issued to establishment owners and client for not hacing a SafePass.
