Police report 127 individuals for violating measures against COVID-19

Cyprus police reported 127 citizens during the last 24 hours for violating the measures aiming at containing the spread of COVID-19.

A police spokesperson told the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) that a total of 12,842 checks were carried out island-wide.

In Nicosia the police conducted 3,995 checks and reported 43 citizens, while ιn Limassol they booked 49 citizens after carrying out 3,660 checks. In Larnaca 1,108 checks were carried out and the police handed out fines to 8 citizens In Paphos. the police booked 6 citizens after carryin out 817 checks. In Famagusta the police conducted 2,022 checks and booked 19 citizens. There were no reports in Morphou where the police conducted 762 checks.

The Traffic Department conducted 433 checks and handed out two fines. Moreover, the Emergency Response Unit carried out 18 checks and the Port Police 27 checks without reporting anyone.
