Police report 14 individuals and one shop owner for violation of COVID-19 measures

Cyprus Police reported 14 individuals and one establishment owner for violating measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

A police spokesperson told CNA that in the last 24 hours ending on 06:00 local time on Tuesday a total of 2,540 checks were carried out island-wide.

In Nicosia, the Police carried out 1,037 checks reporting 2 individuals and one shop owner, in Limassol 192 checks were carried out and 3 individuals were booked, in Larnaca the Police conducted 530 checks and 2 citizens were fined, in Pafos 3 individuals were booked following 128 checks, in Famagusta 304 checks with 4 individuals being reported, while no fines were issued after 219 checks carried out in Morphou.

Furthermore, the Traffic Department and the Marine and Port Police carried out 127 and 3 checks respectively with no fines issued.

According to the police, a coffee house was fined with €500 because a member of the staff was not wearing protecting mask.
