Police report 14 persons and 7 shop owners over violations of COVID-19 protective measures

Cyprus Police fined 14 individuals and 7 shop owners for violating protective measures aiming to contain the spread of COVID-19.

A police spokesperson told CNA that in the last 24 hours ending on 06:00 local time Wednesday, the Force carried out a total of 2,158 checks throughout the government-controlled areas.

In Nicosia, the Police carried out 663 checks reporting 5 persons and 4 shop owners, in Limassol 204 checks were carried out with 4 persons and 1 shop owner fined, in Larnaca 1 shop owner was fined following 389 checks, in Pafos 1 person and 1 shop owner were fined after 122 checks, in Famagusta 4 persons were fined following 376 checks, while in the Morphou region no fines were issued following 166 checks.

Furthermore, no fines were issued following 216 and 22 checks carried out by the Traffic Departments and the Port and Marine Police respectively.
