Police report 149 individuals and 12 establishments for COVID-19 measures violations

Cyprus Police reported 149 individuals and 12 establishment owners for violating protective measures aiming to contain the spread of COVID-19.

A Police spokesperson told CNA that in the last 24 hours ending at 06:00 local time Monday, the Force carried out 11,908 checks throughout the island.

In Nicosia the Police carried out 2,258 checks reporting 27 individuals, in Limassol 2.961 checks were carried out with 66 individuals and three establishment owners reported, in Larnaca 1,625 checks were made with 19 individuals reported and one establishment owner reported, in Pafos 21 citizens were reported following 1,353 checks and five establishment owners booked.

In Famagusta, the Police carried out 1,385 checks with nine individuals and three establishment owners reported, in Morphou the Police carried out 1,361 checks with two persons reported. The Traffic Department carried out 912 checks with five individuals reported, whereas the Police Rapid Response Unit and Port and Marine Police carried out two and 51 checks respectively with no fines issued.
