Police report 166 individuals and 8 shop owners over violating Covid protective measures

Cyprus Police reported 166 individuals and 8 shop owners in the last 24 hours for violating measures aiming to spread the coronavirus pandemic.

A police spokesperson told CNA that in the last 24 hours ending on 06:00 local time today, the force has carried out 10,919 checks throughout the island.

In Nicosia the Police carried out 2,343 checks reporting 50 individuals and 1 shop owner, in Limassol a total of 2,817 checks were carried out with 67 individuals and 2 shop owners reported and in Larnaca 6 individuals and 2 shop owners were booked following 1,499 checks.

In Pafos the Police carried out 1,297 checks reporting 13 individuals, in Famagusta 1,370 were carried out with 24 citizens and 3 shop owners reported and in Morfou 815 checks were carried out with no reports issued.

Furthermore, the Traffic Department carried out 778 checks reporting 6 individuals.
