Police report 169 citizens for violations of COVID measures

The Cyprus Police reported 169 citizens in a total of  11,202 checks the last 24 hours island wide for violations of COVID measures. The majority of the citizens were fined for not sending an sms for their movements.

A police officer from the Press Office told the Cyprus News Agency that in Nicosia the checks were 2,448 and 33 people were fined, in Limassol the Police reported 82 citizens in 2,307 checks, in Larnaka the Police carried out 1,627 checks and fined 15 citizens, in Paphos the checks were 1,745 and 22 citizens were fined and in Famagusta in a total of 1,329 checks 11 people were reported. In Morphou 2 citizens were fined in a total of 922 checks.

The Traffic Department carried out 743 checks and  4 citizens were fined while the Emergency Response Unit made 7 checks and no violation was reported.

No report was made in a total of 74 checks by the Marine Police.
