Police report 171 individuals for violating measures against COVID-19

Cyprus police reported 171 individuals, during the last 24 hours, for violating the measures aiming to curb the spread of COVID-19.

A police spokesperson told CNA that a total of 13,032 checks were carried out island-wide from 0600 on Sunday until 0600 on Monday.

In Nicosia the police conducted 2,191 checks and handed out fines to 40 individuals and the owners of 3 establishments, while in Limassol they carried out 3,400 checks and reported 48 people.

In Larnaca, the police carried out 1,504 checks and fined 21 citizens, in Pafos 1,588 checks were conducted, with 20 individuals being reported and the owners of 5 establishments, in Famagusta the police carried out 1,337 checks and booked 21 citizens, while in Morphou they conducted 2,116 checks without reporting anyone.

Moreover, the Traffic Department carried out 697 checks island-wide and reported 21 individuals. The Port and Marine Police conducted 120 checks, without reporting anyone.
