Police reported 180 individuals and two premises owners in the last 24 hours for violating measures aiming to stop the spread the coronavirus pandemic.
A police spokesperson told CNA that in the last 24 hours ending on 06:00am local time today, the force has carried out 10.600 checks throughout the island. Most reports concerned non-use of masks and failing to send SMS for movement.
In Nicosia, the Police carried out 1.956 checks reporting 37 individuals, in Limassol a total of 2.936 checks were carried out with 92 individuals and two shop owners reported and in Larnaca 16 individuals were booked following 1.713 checks.
In Pafos the Police carried out 835 checks reporting seven individuals and one shop owner, in Famagusta 1.465 were carried out with 22 citizens reported and in Morfou 835 checks were carried out with one individual reported.
Furthermore, the Traffic Department carried out 832 checks reporting five individuals.
