Police report 22 individuals and 3 shop owners over Covid protective measures violation

Cyprus Police reported 22 individuals and 3 shop owners for violating measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

A police spokesperson told CNA that in the last 24 hours ending on 06:00 local time on Friday carried out a total of 3,351 checks throughout the government-controlled areas.

In Nicosia, the Police carried out 1,682 checks reporting 6 individuals and 3 shop owners, in Limassol 166 checks were carried out with 5 individuals fined, in Larnaca 537 checks were carried out with no reports issued, in Pafos 2 individuals were booked following 82 checks, in Famagusta 541 checks were carried out with 9 individuals fined, while in Morphou 120 checks were carried out with no fines issued.

Furthermore, Traffic Departments and the Marine and Port Police carried out 185 and 38 checks respectively with no fines issued.

On Thursday, the government announced the measures aiming to contain the spread of Covid will remain in force until December 2.
