Police report 78 persons for violating restrictive measures

Cyprus Police reported 78 persons for violating restrictive measures against the spreading of the coronavirus outbreak.

In the last twelve hours ending on 06:00 local time today, the Police carried out 3,418 checks for compliance with restrictive measures for Covid-19.

Concerning measures in shops, the Police carried out 544 checks reporting one violation in Pafos. A total of 182 checks were carried out in Nicosia, 6 in Limassol, 128 in Larnaca, 102 in Pafos, 55 in Famagusta and 71 in Morphou.

With regard to movement, police checks throughout government-controlled areas amounted to 2,874.  Thirty violations were booked in Nicosia out of 680 checks, 28 violations were reported in Limassol out of 680 checks, 2 violations were booked in Larnaca out of 313 cheks. Checks in Pafos amounted to 420 with 4 violations reported, 10 violations were reported in Famagusta out of 397 checks. The Police carried out 164 checks in Morphou with no violations reported, while the Traffic Control Department carried out 107 checks (mainly in highways) and Rapid Response Unit carried out 97 checks reporting no violations.
