The finding of the second “black” box of Boeing 737-300 is expected to shed light on the conditions of the crash of the doomed Helios aircraft on Sunday. The box was found in a gorge and it is in a good condition. The device contains all crew’s discussions, thirty minutes before the crash in Greece.

Member of the committee of the Greek experts will fly to Paris on Friday to transfer the second “black” box to the Centre. “The box will be opened at the presence of Greek representatives and the process will be video-taped”, Chairman of the Committee, Akrivos Tsolakis said.

Meanwhile, first tests have showed that there is no trace of carbon monoxide in the bodies of the victims. Coroner, Filippos Koutsaftis has already examined six bodies and only one body had a small proportion of carbon monoxide, which corresponds to two-three cigarettes. The results of the tests to trace other poisonous gas will be ready in the next few days.

It is worth noting that another Helios aircraft which flew from Larnaca to Luton on Friday was forced to land in Stansted. According to the company, the pilot decided to land the aircraft to Stansted due to the bad whether conditions and a problem traced to the plane’s wing. Engineers are currently inspecting the plane and no problem has arisen so far, according to the ANA.
