The 24-hour strike in Greece on Wednesday is expected to affect Cyprus too, since 26 flights to and from the island’s airports will be cancelled due to the strike of the Greek air-traffic controllers.

In his statements, Airport Spokesman, Adamos Aspris said that due to the 24-hour strike in Greece, all flights to and from the Greek airports will be cancelled. “The flights are of Cyprus Airways, Olympic Air and Aegean Airlines. Overall, 26 flights will be affected, 12 of which are departures and 14 arrivals”, he said.

“All cases concern flights to and from Larnaca International Airport and to and from Athens and Thessaloniki International Airports”, he noted.

“The airlines have already reformed their flight schedule and travelers are urged to call directly the companies or their tourist agents for further information”, he said.

“The strike in Greece and the subsequent cancellation of flights affects 4.5 thousand passengers”, Mr. Aspris concluded.
