Cyprus Airways will launch two new flights to Tehran from July 7 and to Erbil of North Iraq from July 4.

According to the announcement, CAIR will fly to Tehran twice a week, offering connections to other European destinations too.

Cyprus Airways have reached an agreement with Orthodoxou Aviation Ltd for the execution of 25 flights to and from the Iranian capital at first stage, with an aim to expand the agreement for scheduled flights.

For Erbil, the first four flights (once a week) will be chartered. At a later stage they will become scheduled and their frequency might also increase.

The launch of this new itinerary is a result of the cooperation between Cyprus Airways and MERJAN, which is one of the biggest tour operators in North Iraq.

It is noted that both destinations are brand new in the Cypriot market and this is expected to affect positively the tourist arrivals.
