07/09/2012 13:35
Panayiotis Kounnis, historic member of Cyprus Popular Bank, announced today his withdrawal from the Group after 32 consecutive years of offer.

Mr. Kounnis announced his decision for early retirement via a circular sent to the staff.

“It is with much hesitation that I came to this decision and I leave behind many notable colleagues and friends with whom I had the chance to work and experience with them professional and personal successes, he said, stressing that "personal and other needs forced him to retire prematurely from the Group”.

“I deeply regret for the fact that the time of my retirement takes place in the midst of difficult circumstances for the Group. But I firmly believe that the Group, with the successful implementation of the restructuring plan that is in progress, will be able to overcome the current difficulties and will return to dynamic growth. In my turn, I pledge that I will always be next to you and the Group and I will support you in all your endeavours”.

After expressing gratitude to the Board members for their excellent cooperation, trust and support, he addressed to the staff and thanked everyone individually "for their excellent cooperation, love and trust. I assure you that my interest and efforts for the progress of our Group will be continued and sustained”, he concluded.
