Markets in the green amid PSI talks

The CSE and the ASE are in positive territory on Monday in view of the PSI and the negotiations with troika, which will continue today.

On the other hand, the climate in Europe is negative.

The tough negotiations with troika will start again today so as to reach an agreement for the country’s new loan contract.

The Premier and the Finance Minister are due to meet with troika to discuss details on the salary cuts, the recapitalization of banks and fiscal issues.

The CSE general index is currently trading at 345.31 points and at +4.23 while FTSE gains 4.05% to 121.36 points.

CPB in the CSE climbs 6.16% to €0.362 attracting €377.1 thousand, while in Athens the stock soars 5.57% to €0.36 with a turnover of €1.1 million.

BOCY in the CSE surges 4.43% to €0.66 concentrating €520. 3 thousand while in Athens the share gains 5.23% to €0.664 with a turnover of €1.9 million (the fifth highest so far).

The trading volume stands at €1 million. Overall, 10 securities go up, 3 fall and 2 remain unchanged.

In the ASE, the general index puts on 2.92% to 784.38 points while FTSE adds 4.33% to €33.4 million.

National Bank is the most active stock of the day (€11.1 million). NBG jumps 10.98% to €2.83.

Alpha Bank climbs 15.15% to €1.52, Eurobank is up 10.01% to €0.813 and Piraeus Bank enjoys gains of 13.97% to €0.571.

In Europe, Stoxx Europe 600 falls from a 6-month high ahead of the conclusion of Greek negotiations.

Paris falls 1.16%, London slips 0.48% and Frankfurt drops 0.56%.

European banks suffer significant losses with Societe Agricole SA, the second largest French bank and Credit Agricole SA losing more than 2%.
