Profits of €5m for Atlantic

The profits of the insurance company Atlantic recorded an increase of 103.1% in the first nine months of 2014.

According to its interim management statement, the profit attributable to shareholders amounted to €4,67 million against €2,3 million in the corresponding period of 2013.

The increased profitability is attributable to the profits from insurance operations and the increased profits from investments, which stood at €891 thousand from losses of €2.3 million in the corresponding period of 2013.

The results of 2013 were affected negatively by the provision for the impairment of deposits of €531 thousand.

The profits from insurance operations rose 12% to € 3,90 million from € 3,48 million last year.

The net premiums and contract fees amounted to €12,68 million from €13,21 million ,recording a decrease of 4%.

The claims from insured showed a decrease of 11.0% to €5,45 million.

The administrative expenses amounted to €3,25 million compared to €3,42 million in 2013 recording a decrease of 5.0%

As for the prospects, the business and the general economic environment remains difficult and the Management will continue to take all necessary measures and to react quickly to new market conditions, the announcement said.
