Resignation of CAIR Deputy CEO

Cyprus Airways announced on Friday the resignation its Captain and Deputy CEO, Andreas Georgiou.

According to the announcement, Cyprus Airways Public Ltd would like to inform the investing public that Captain Andreas Georgiou, who except for his duties as a pilot exercised the duties of Deputy Chief Executive Officer on a temporary basis, handed in his resignation on December 30, 2013 for strictly personal reasons and requested his resignation to be accepted immediately.

The request was accepted by the Company.

At the same time, it is clarified that the assumptions and speculations in a newspaper report released today on the reasons of resignation of Captain A. Georgiou are completely unfounded. The conclusion that the resignation of Captain A. Georgiou creates a “serious gap” to the Company is also unfounded.

“Captain A. Georgiou will exercise his duties as Deputy Chief Executive Officer for the period of fifteen days, until January 14, 2014 and the Company will make all necessary arrangements in the meantime”, the announcement concluded.
