Salamis Tours announced on Thursday the sale of 10,200 shares (51%) in Thomas Cook Services (Cyprus) Ltd against €900 thousand.

The buyer is Thomas Cook Destinations GMBH.

According to the announcement, “Thomas Cook Services (Cyprus) Ltd was included as subsidiary in the consolidated financial statements. The profit from the sale stands at €1,170,000 and will affect positively the Group’s results for the second half of 2010”.

Salamis Tours also issued a profit warning for the first half of 2010.

“The results from ongoing activities for the first half of the year are expected to be lower than those of the corresponding period of 2009 and will show loss compared to a profit in 2009”, it said.

“This differentiation is attributable to the drop in the turnover, the increase in fuel prices and the increase in the exchange rate of the dollar against the euro”, the announcement added.

In 2009, the Company announced net profits of €1.8 million against profits of €1.6 million in 2008.

In the first six months of 2009, the profits stood at €346.3 thousand.
