Number of Cypriot investors rank amongst highest in the world

According to a research on 2.017 households carried out by the Central Bank of Cyprus on the Cyprus Stock Exchange, in cooperation with Cyprus College, covering the two-year period 1999-2001, around 43% of households invested in the CSE, the majority of which being middle-income families, ranking amongst the highest percentages worldwide.

During a press conference last evening, the Governor of the Central Bank stated that the average amount invested directly in the CSE was around CYP 13.130 per household, totaling around CYP 1.7 billion. Investments made from funds already held equaled around CYP 77%, with investments made through a combination of loans and own funds equaling approximately 23%.
