BOC-CPB push CSE up

The CSE general index put on 0.86% to 85.3 points on Wednesday, influenced by the Bank of Cyprus and the Popular Bank that surged 1.1% and 0.7% to £1.81 and £1.39, attracting 24.2% and 14.4% of the turnover respectively.

FTSE and the new joint index added 0.94% and 0.97% to 406.1 and 1211.5 points respectively.

The trading volume exceeded £543 thousand, 18% or £98 thousand of which concerned the LGCS bonds. LGCS closed at £980 and at +1.6%.

MEGA with 10.7% of the volume soared 4.4% to 2.4 cents, Demetra with 3.2% of the turnover ended 3.1% stronger at 20 cents and the Hellenic Bank with 1.5% of the volume remained unchanged at 44.2 cents.

Overall, 51 securities went up, 9 fell and 20 remained unchanged.
