CSE drops on Tue

The CSE general index slipped 0.7% to 74.7 points on Tuesday, pressured by the Popular Bank and the Hellenic Bank that recorded losses of 0.8% and 1.6% to £1.18 and 43 cents respectively. The Bank of Cyprus remained unchanged at £1.36. FTSE/CySE20 ended 0.4% lower at 331.5 points.

The trading volume remained once again particularly low, hardly totaling £161 thousand, but would have been even lower by £40 thousand if it wasn’t for the transactions of Interfund and Dome. INF remained unchanged at 8.6 cents, concentrating 12.3% or £19.9 thousand of the turnover, while DOME remained unchanged as well at 64 cents, absorbing 12.3% or £19.8 thousand of the investors’ interest.

BOC was the most active stock of the day attracting 27.1% of the turnover, while CPB and HB absorbed 6.5% and 4% of the volume respectively. Louis with 7% of the volume remained unchanged at 15 cents.

Overall, 9 securities went up, 17 fell and 40 remained unchanged.
