New gains for the CSE…

-Ninth successive rise
-Stable rises for BOC


The CSE general index – mostly pressured by the blue chips – enjoyed a ninth day of gains closing at 85.7 points and +1.1%. Similarly, FTSE20 recorded gains of 0.8% closing at 324.4 point, while the banking sector rose 1%. From the 11th of October that the CSE started its rally it gained 8%.

The daily trading volume totaled CYP 573 thousand, while the banking sectors attracted a considerable investors’ interest, concentrating more than 44% of the total volume. Specifically, the Bank of Cyprus was the most marketable stock of the day (18.1%) closing 0.95 higher to CYP 1.18, the Popular Bank with 11.9% of the turnover remained unchanged at CYP 1.06, while Libra with 8.8% of the total volume reported marginal gains of 0.4% closing at 47.9 cents. The other daily volume leaders were the Hellenic Bank (7.6%) and the Bank of Cyprus warrants (6.8%) that jumped 1.4% and 3.1% to 72 and 20.1 cents respectively.

Astarti Developments Co with 3.7% of the total volume remained unchanged at 35 cents, while Libra (LBHG) preference shares with 3.1% of the turnover surged 1.4% to 29.4 cents.
Marketrends managed to recover yesterday’s low, climbing 17.4% to 2.7 cents and attracting 0.9% of the total volume. Finally, Liberty (1.5% of the turnover) ended 9.5% higher to 21.9 cents and Lordos Plastics (2.1% of the daily volume) went up 7.6% to 25.6 cents.

Overall, 57 securities went up, 26 fell and 22 remained unchanged.
