10/09/2003 16:22
Car registrations for January-August 2003 have increased by 4.8% to 28,611 compared to 27,300 in the corresponding period of 2002, while the private saloon car registrations have showed an increase of 18.8%, reaching 19,752 (including disability cars), 5,610 of which are new and 14,142 second-hand.

In January-August 2002, 16,633 vehicles were sold, 4,848 of which were new and 11,785 second hand. The recent talks on the tax cut in cars seem to have affected the car sales in August, as according to CYSTAT data, these dropped from 2,074 in August 2002 to 1,600 cars.
