Seven months after the consumer tax reform, Cypriots buy more and more new and used cars.
According to CYSTAT data released on Monday, used cars in May 2006 recorded an increase of 45% to 2,265 compared to 1,562 in the corresponding month of 2006. Similarly, new car registrations surged 42.2% to 2,273 compared to 1,599 in May 2006.
Total private saloon car registrations increased by 43.6% to 4,538 compared to 3,161 in May 2006.
In January – May 2007, new car registrations showed an increase of 25.7%, used car registrations soared 47.6% and total private saloon car registrations surged 36.1% to 20,500 compared to 15,059 in the corresponding period of 2006.
