Electricity, petroleum products drive inflation up by 4.3% in October

Inflation rose by 4.3% in October driven by electricity and petroleum products, the Statistical Service has announced.

“In October 2021, the Consumer Price Index increased by 0.76 units and reached 104.79 units compared to 104.03 units in September 2021. In October 2021, the inflation increased by 4.3%”, Cystat said in a press release.

Between January-October 2021, the CPI increased by 2.0% compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.

According to Cystat, the largest changes compared with October 2020 were recorded in Electricity (32.3%) and Petroleum products (25.8%).

Compared with the previous month, the largest changes were seen in Electricity (6.3%) and in Agricultural goods (-5.8%).
