Exports of soft drinks slump

According to CYSTAT data released on Thursday, the export of soft drinks in August 2006 dropped 99.6% to 5.5 thousand litres against 1.2 million litres in the corresponding month of 2005 due to the termination of the export of Coca Cola by Lanitis Bros after its acquisition by 3E.

The domestic deliveries of soft drinks recorded a drop of 7.7% to 6.3 million litres compared to 6.8 million litres in August 2005.

The total deliveries of soft drinks (exports and domestic deliveries) slid 21.8% to 6.3 million litres against 8.1 million litres in August 2005.

January-August

In January-August 2006, the exports fell by 98.5% and the domestic deliveries by 6.4%.

The total deliveries of soft drinks slumped 21.4% to 38 million litres against 48.4 litres last year.
