Fuel sales rise by 1.8%

Total sales of petroleum products for the period of January – July 2019 rose by 1.8% compared with the respective period of last year, the Cyprus Statistical Office (Cystat) has said.
 
According to Cystat, a total of 871,813 tonnes were sold in the first seven months of 2019 compared with 856,823 in the corresponding period of 2018.

A total of 400,810 tonnes or 46% of total sales were sold from filling stations of which 173,25 concerned unleaded 95 gasoline and 158,928 in diesel.

In July 2019 total sales of petroleum products recorded an increase of 9.4% compared to the previous month.

A rise was recorded in the provisions of Gasoil for Marine Use and Aviation Kerosene, as well as in the sales of Kerosene, Gasoil, Asphalt, Light Fuel Oil, Gasoil Low Sulphur and Motor Gasoline. On the contrary, a reduction was recorded in the sales of Heavy Fuel Oil, Cystat added.
 
The total stocks of petroleum products at the end of the month recorded an increase of 16,4% compared to the previous month.
