Retail trade continued upward trend in April

The retail trade continued its upward trend in the fourth month of the year, according to provisional estimates of the Statistical Service of Cyprus.
 
Cystat announced on Wednesday that the Turnover Value Index of Retail Trade in April 2019 increased by 4.6% compared with the corresponding month of the previous year and reached 114,7 units (base 2015=100).
 
Between January-April 2019 the index is estimated to have recorded an increase of 3.0% compared with the same period of 2018.
 
The Turnover Volume Index of Retail Trade for April 2019 rose by 4.2% compared with the fourth month of the previous year and reached 116,7 units (base 2015=100).
 
From January until April 2019 the index is estimated to have recorded an increase of 2.4% compared with the same period of 2018.
