Turnover of retail trade down in September

The value and volume of retail trade except of motor vehicles declined in September 2020 and the first nine months of the year, according to provisional estimates released Wednesday by the Statistical Service of Cyprus.

On the basis of the provisional estimates, in September 2020, the Turnover Value Index of Retail Trade decreased by 3.9% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and reached 115.3 units (base 2015=100). For the period January-September 2020, the index is estimated to have recorded a decrease of 4.3% compared to the same period of 2019.
 
On the basis of provisional estimates, in September 2020, the Turnover Volume Index of Retail Trade decreased by 2.6% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and reached 120.4 units (base 2015=100). For the period January-September 2020, the index is estimated to have recorded a decrease of 2.8% compared to the same period of 2019.
