Covid-19 tests begin on Wednesday in Cyprus for people working in construction sites, while sample taking is underway for people working in the retail trade sector, in the framework of the implementation of the first phase of the strategy for the gradual lifting of the restrictive measures.
According to the Ministry of Health, 14,000 lab tests will be carried out for employees in the retail trade sector and 6,000 for people working in construction sites.
Three thousand samples will be taken in construction sites with the use of mobile units, while appointments will be arranged for the rest 3000 at the sample taking centres that have been assigned to carry out the tests.
Sample taking for the employees in the retail trade sector will be concluded on May 25. The programme concerns people who come in direct contact with clients, as sellers and cashiers, while employees in the beverages and food sector are excluded.
