The cost of building materials for October 2004 recorded a sharp increase. According to CYSTAT data released on Monday, building material in October increased 11.5%, mostly due to the increase of 32.9% in the price of oil products. The increase in the price of industrial products amounted to 14.4%.
Similarly, timber, stones and quarry products increased 8.5%, chemical products soared 4.3% and other products put on 0.7%. On the other hand, the price of electromechanical products dropped 3.7%.
For January-October 2004, the building material index surged 7.6% compared to the corresponding period of 2003.
