Cost of construction materials continued decelerating

The cost of construction materials in April continued decelerating for a third consecutive quarter. According to data released by the Statistical Service of Cyprus (Cystat), the price index of Construction Materials for April 2023 reached 135.59 units (base year 2015=100), recording a decrease of 0.23% compared to the previous month.

Compared to the same month of the previous year, the index recorded an increase of 2.18%.

By main commodity category, increases were recorded in minerals (23.09%), mineral products (12.05%), electromechanical products (3.12%) and products of wood, insulation materials, chemicals and plastics (2.73%), while the index in metallic products dropped by 9.82%, Cystat added.
