The appointment of Chris Pavlou as executive Vice Chairman of Cyprus Popular Bank was made following a recommendation of the Central Bank of Cyprus to the government.

According to newspaper sources, Chairman of the Group, Andreas Filippou received a presidential letter which indicated the desire of the major shareholder for the appointment of Chris Pavlou in the position of vice chairman.
