CB Governor meets S&P team

Central Bank Governor, Christodoulos Christodoulou had a meeting with the three-member team of the international credit rating agency Standard and Poor’s on Wednesday morning, within the framework of the latter’s visit to Cyprus to undertake its annual rating exercise for the island’s economy.

At the meeting, the two parties had talks on the Central Bank’s competencies with regard to the monetary and exchange rate policy as well as the supervision of the banks.

The two parties also discussed the positive developments in economy after the island’s entry in ERM2 and the challenges that Cyprus faces due to its constant effort to reduce the fiscal deficit and the public debt in a pre-electoral period.
