Transport Min overtimes at £2mln

The total cost of the overtime employment in the Transport Ministry for 2003 has reached almost £2 million (£1,884,224), sources revealed on Friday. Meanwhile, the Health Ministry has proceeded to an investigation for the overtime payment granted to the Ministry’s staff, “since they need further clarifications”.

At the meeting of Council of Ministers, the Transport and the Health Ministers submitted their prospectuses on the overtime payment for 2002 and 2003, whereas each Ministry is expected to submit a list of names for the staff that has worked overtime for 2003 as well as the total sums of the annual overtime payment.

According to the Transport Ministry report, the total cost of overtime employment for 2003 amounted to £1,884,244.
