Greece, Cyprus on Eurogroup agenda

The progress in implementing the economic adjustment programs of Greece and Cyprus, and the wider situation in eurozone will be discussed at the Eurogroup meeting in Luxembourg on Saturday.

"The ministers will discuss the current economic situation (in eurozone) and ways to strengthen economic growth and create jobs. They will also be updated about the current economic adjustment programs in Greece and Cyprus" a source of the secretariat told RIA Novosti agency.

Last week, the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) released the first tranche - about € 30 bn – of a loan of € 86 bn. to Greece, which was agreed by Eurogroup on 14 August.

On Saturday, Ministers of Finance of eurozone countries are expected to give the green light for the release of an installment of € 0,5 bn to Cyprus.
