The contribution of €10 billion of the EU and the IMF for the rescue of Cyprus is not negotiable, the German government said today while the European officials deny call for more support.

According Reuters, German Finance Ministry spokesman, Marianne Kothe, said there are no plans or requests for increasing the amount and that "it is not negotiable".

Representative of the German government, Steffen Seibert, speaking during the same press conference in Berlin, noted that "the international credit program of the €10 billion is naturally very high compared to the size of the economy."

Eurozone officials in Dublin said that Cyprus has not requested more money in an emergency lending, and is more likely to be considering a request for advance payment from the European Structural Funds, deriving from the long-term EU budget

As noted, the eurozone finance ministers meet to reaffirm the political support for the loan of €10 billion in Cyprus.
