Measures to be discussed to stop sharp rise of COVID cases

A meeting of the Cabinet in Cyprus which was scheduled for Wednesday was postponed to Friday where measures might be discussed for COVID, a written statement by the Government Spokesman Marios Pelekanos says.

The meeting on Friday is set to begin at 1015 local time and as the statement says, possible measures will be discussed for a more effective dealing of the outbreak in cases.

Yesterday Cyprus reported 1,081 new cases and 2 deaths. The positivity rate now stands at 1.72% and 159 people are getting treatment in hospitals, of whom 41 are in serious condition.
