Cement exports were up by 16.1% in the first seven months of the year compared to the same period last year, data published on Wednesday by the Cyprus Statistical Service show.
According to the data, in the period January – July 2015 cement exports came to 175,069 tons while during the same period of 2014 exports reached 150,670 tons.
On the other hand clinker exports fell by 4.4% in the first seven months of 2015 (665,352 tons) compared to the same period of last year (696,258 tons).
Local cement sales during the same period in 2015 came to 262,216 tons compared to 272,241 tons in 2014, recording a drop of 3.7%.
At the same time the statistical data show that in the first seven months of this year cement production was down to 416,090 tons compared to 421,479 tons at the same period of the previous year, recording a drop of 1.28%.
